U.N. rights chief urges waiving of immunity in Khashoggi case

U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo met on Tuesday with King Salman over the disappearance of Saudi writer Jamal Khashoggi, two weeks ago during a visit to the Saudi Consulate in Istanbul.

Pompeo arrived at the Yamamah royal palace in Riyadh, where King Salman greeted him. America’s top diplomat thanked the king “for accepting my visit on behalf of President (Donald) Trump” before going into a closed-door meeting.

U.N. human rights chief Michelle Bachelet called on Saudi Arabia and Turkey on Tuesday to reveal everything they know about the disappearance and possible murder of missing journalist Jamal Khashoggi and said Riyadh should waive immunity on its diplomatic premises and officials.
